Review: Great Big World is Justine’s third children’s CD, and the album has a certain mellowness to it. There isn’t the punchy vibrancy of I Like to Sing or the depth and musical variety of Songs to Make You Smile, but there is an easy-listening quality that, let’s face it, matters to parents. The album has its highlights, and Happy Dog’s calypso flavour is one of them. Little Day Out is a great reflection of childhood that children will identify with. My Shadow and Me sounds like just the kind of classic jazz song Justine likes to sing, complete with sax and trombone and you may just find yourself humming along to Beautiful, Beautiful.
