Review: Don Spencer was one of the first Australian musicians to produce children’s entertainment and Don’s latest musical offering has an educational focus. The three CD pack includes Having Fun with Numbers, Musical Times Tables and Musical Alphabet. Songs such as 5 Kookaburras and 10 Butterflies are classic Spencer and great for kids learning number sequencing. Rocket Ship Countdown is also a blast with it’s Chrissy Amphlett-like vocals. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the alphabet backwards (as I have) this CD will help. And for any parent despairing of ever teaching their child the times tables, Don provides a track for each number, in styles ranging from 12 bar blues, country, rock and even some Caribbean inspiration.
