Review:
When my six-year-old son saw Wall-E at the movies and came home raving about it I knew it would be good. Now on DVD, this is a mesmerising film. While I expected eye-popping animation and engaging characters from the Disney-Pixar team, what I didn’t anticipate was the artistic beauty of this film. With an evocative soundtrack and surprisingly little dialogue, Wall-E is like a cinematic ballet - telling the story of a future where earth has been destroyed by junk and the only human emotions belong to a lovable robot. So very ‘now’ with its eco-message, Wall-E also provides a gentle reminder of the importance of human connection. (Viewers with a post-modern bent should keep an eye out for this film’s pastiche of 20th century kitsch - very funny.)

Review: There were three shows - Summer Holidays, Skin and Cameras. Dorothy the fish dreamt about Elmo surfing and catching the waves! The kids built a great sandcastle –it was fun! In Skin, it said how we all have different coloured skin. We need to protect it from the sun and the cold weather. There was a book made of skin that had animals in it. It was funny because the skin book lost all its animals! The best part was when the girl took pictures of stuff with her camera. The photos were of her baby, the neighbour next door, her mum and her cockatoo. Little kids would like this DVD, kids that like Elmo.

Review:
The Nightmare Before Christmas is about the Skeleton – the Pumpkin King - whose name is Jack. He wrecks Christmas by pretending to be Santa. The dead people - who are zombies and vampires - make evil toys that attack kids. But there’s a nice zombie girl – Frankenstein’s Bride, whose name is really Sally. The Boogie Man is made of bugs and he tries to put Santa and Sally in lava but Jack turns good and rescues them. Sally helps Santa take the evil toys away and gives kids good toys – like a kid who got a head before, well Santa gave him a real puppy! Santa and Sally save Christmas. Big kids over six would like it but I bet babies would be scared. Rating: 1238 out of 100. It’s super, gigantic great.
