Where: Dobinson Drive, SwanseaIf you are the type of person who loves nothing better than a quiet, casual day with your family, then look no further than Swansea’s Coon Island. Situated on the Southern side of Lake Macquarie, it boasts easy access, parking, picnic facilities, public amenities, plenty of shady trees and crystal clear water over a soft, sandy bottom-perfect for those delicate little feet (and the not-so-little ones). So grab your esky, swimmers and towel (and your copy of Sunny Days), and head down for a blissful day of relaxation. The children will love frolicking in the water without any horrible seaweed!

Hidden destination Kaye, friends have told us about this place, but they were very vague as to where it actually is! I wonder if they were trying to keep the secret hidden... We drove around to find it and gave up, thinking it must be an urban myth! Thanks for the directions, we might be heading that way on Australia Day! |
