In this EJ book Emma gets stressed about the school swimming carnival and, whilst trying to save the Great Barrier Reef from evil Adriana,Ā she starts to overcome her fear of deep water. Format: Paperback Review: This heart-melting picture book is tagged as a ālove story for children of all agesā. Written by Bambi Gordon, it simply begs to be read aloud at bedtime (Or breakfast time. Or lunch time).
Each page presents an almost fantastical scenario of loss such as: āIf a lead should lose its dog/and a bark should lose its tree; if the petal lost its flower/and the pollen lost its beeā. Alongside these scenarios are whimsical illustrations by Melbourne artist, Joi Murugavell. Joiās childlike, quirky art hints at lifeās simple pleasures like ice cream, cake, balls and yo-yos.
The ending will make your throat catch and inspire you to cuddle up to those you adore. A perfect love story.

This is the story of a star called Twinkle. She is the shining star who was in the sky above Bethlehem on the first Christmas night when the baby was born in the manger, and sheās also found in many homes sitting atop the sparkling Christmas tree. Twinkle and her little stars use their magic to light up the night sky, waiting for daybreak when they can rest. In the second half of the book, Twinkle gets to meet Santa and visits him as he celebrates Christmas Day with his elves. Told in rhyming verse, this tale spreads a little of the enchanting magic of the Christmas season.
