This beautifully photographed book is lovely to look at, even if you’re not crafty. There is guaranteed inspiration between the pages, so don’t be surprised to find yourself rummaging around in cupboards for unused items that can be given new life.
Ideas vary in complexity from those made by hand to projects requiring basic sewing skills or a sewing machine. The instructions are easy to understand, with clear photographs and templates provided.
A few in particular caught my eye: tea-cup candles, Christmas decorations and gorgeous lavender-scented bunnies for children. A gift created with heart and love doesn’t have to cost the earth, and this book is packed with ideas to help make your best intentions a reality.

This stunningly simple book celebrates the gift of generosity. Two Birthday Cakes is the brainchild of Sydney-based family law expert Danielle Jaku-Greenfield, who came up with the concept after finding it difficult to source books about separation and divorce for children. This book could be used by any aged child but is most suited to primary school aged children. The book covers a variety of possible scenarios and emotions that children going through a family separation may experience and deals with complex issues in a straightforward yet sensitive way. It also doubles as a colouring in book with beautiful line illustrations by Lindi Greenfield.
